Attraction Details :

Bencha Sutthi Khongkha is the name given to sacred water used in Oath of Allegiance Ceremonies, held from the reign of King Rama IV to the present. It is said that as King Rama IV was travelling by boat on the river, he bathed at the Raja Pier. He was pleased by the cool, deep-running water and ordered the water in this area blessed at a temple Wat Phra Phutthabat before being used in the coronation ceremony.

As such, some of the holy Bencha Sutthi Khongkha water is taken from Saraburi’s main Pa Sak River as it flows through Amphoe Sao Hai, which is just one of the five ceremonially significant rivers from which the sacred water is sampled. Thus, Bencha Sutthi Khongkha means “Five Pure Rivers”.
